Welcome to the official Web site of Madison Anesthesiology Consultants, LLP (MAC). MAC is a group of 21 physicians who practice anesthesiology at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Anesthesiology is the field of medicine concerned with providing perioperative care for patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
 
Goals of this perioperative care include optimizing conditions for the surgeon, obstetrician, or other provider performing this procedure while ensuring the comfort and, above all else, safety of the patient. The array of procedures for which the anesthesiologists of MAC provide care is quite extensive and includes procedures in:
 
• Orthopedics
• Neurosurgery
• Cardiovascular Surgery
• Otolaryngology
• Obstetrics and Gynecology
 
Anesthesiologists must be familiar with the fundamentals of these fields, as well as have a firm knowledge of internal medicine and critical care medicine to provide outstanding perioperative care.
 
Madison Anesthesiology Consultants, LLP provides anesthesia care to virtually all patients in the operating rooms and obstetrical suites of Meriter Hospital. Meriter Hospital is a regional referral hospital located in Madison, Wisconsin. Many of the surgeons and obstetricians on the Meriter medical staff are members of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. As such, many of our patients come from locations scattered throughout southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. At this time, MAC provides care only at Meriter Hospital.
 
The 21 physicians of Madison Anesthesiology Consultants, LLP are all board certified or board eligible in anesthesiology. Several physicians have additional training and/or certification in other medical specialties. Madison Anesthesiology Consultants, LLP has a practice that utilizes only physicians in its practice. At all times patients are receiving anesthesia care at Meriter Hospital, that care is administered directly by an anesthesiology physician.
